Today is a day that I really wish we could have cameras at the office…

One of my co-workers have been on a little vacation - for the past three weeks, she and her husband have been traveling throughout Europe. Good for them…

Well, she comes back on Monday, and as a way to say “Welcome back! Don’t ever leave us again, seriously, we mean it…” we “decorated” her cubical. By decorated, I of course mean attempted to pull of an Epic Prank on a minor scale.

The short of it - most of her stuff was wrapped in aluminum foil - her monitors, her mouse and keyboard, her chair, stapler, tape thinggie, lamp and potted plant - and we also strung up some fake cobwebs. Oh, and silly string - lots of silly string.

Then, just because I bought too much foil (150ft), we closed off the entrance to her cubical with the foil. Made a thin wall of it, about four foot wide and six foot tall.

Pretty darn awesome… And makes me wish I could have some pictures of it.

Here’s an interesting little resource. A Zombie Survival Wiki - not sure how accurate the information is, but it looks like a nice companion piece to the wonderfully written and completely indispensable Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks.

Side note: I got into the LittleBigPlanet beta today! Expect some impressions and stuff later…

In a fit of boredom, I checked out the server logs for this little blog this morning - mostly wondering what the top 20 search strings were. Remember when I used to post those, years ago?

Well, turns out that five of the top twenty things that people search for - and end up coming here to find out about - are variations of the phrase foamy chewbacca. This is rather strange as no actual posts contain that phrase! With the exception of this one, of course.

A quick Google search shows that my Twitter feed is the #2 result for foamy chewbacca, which might explain how people were lead to the site… The Twitter feed on the sidebar. How it got there is simple: I was watching Zombie Strippers, heard the phrase and tweeted it for posterity.

What does this mean, though? Well, somehow people other than myself are also wondering just what the fuck a foamy chewbacca is, and were hoping that I might be able to enlighten them. Alas, at this point in time I cannot - but I shall add an entry to the FAQ in the hopes that, someday, I will be able to fully answer that question once and for all.

This past SaturdaySunday, Nadia and I hit up the Adventuredome @ Circus Circus. It was a hell of a lot more fun than I expected, even if a couple of the things I really wanted to do were closed. No Laser Tag and no log ride thing…

Bah.

We did, though, do the roller-coaster twice, which was kind of awesome. It’s not the best coaster in the area, but it is still a load of fun… I ended up getting nauseous fairly early on in the day, but after a bit of walking, game playing and a brief snack, I was feeling much better.

I’m thinking next trip I’ll take a couple of them motion-sick pills before hand, see if that helps at all.

Or maybe Jager Bombs. ;)

The picture? Taken over lunch… I just think it’s super cute! ^_^

Re: The Color Printer

The network color printer is still out of commission - it is jamming, regardless of where the paper is fed from. We are aware of the problem, and are working as quickly as we can to fix it. In the mean time, please do not send any more jobs to it - they won’t come out anyway, so it’s just a waste of your time and mine. Also, please refrain from dropping by my cubical every five minutes to either ask if it’s still broken, or let me know that it is broken. I know it is - that is why there is a note on the printer in my hand writing saying that it’s broken. When it’s fixed, I’ll let you know - and remove the note. Until the note is gone, it’s broken.

One last thing to be aware of: Contrary to popular belief, beating the printer like a rented mule will not, I repeat, will not make it work any faster, and may cause further damage to both the printer and my sanity. The next person to use undue force on the printer will be choked with a CAT6 cable, as outlined in the employee manual in Chapter 32, Subsection 4F.

Thank you and have a nice day.
